What is UAGexplore?
UAGexplore (Up And Go Explore) is a free mobile app that lists places to visit and upcoming events in Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Germany and the Netherlands.
Is it free?
Yes, entirely. Downloading the app, browsing places and events, opening a listing: it’s all free, with no subscription and no advertising. Only professionals who want to put their venue in the spotlight can take out a paid plan, and it stays optional.
Do I need to create an account?
Not to explore: the app opens straight onto the catalogue, with no sign-up. An account only becomes useful for saving favorites, building lists and sharing them — and it can be deleted from the app, at any time.
Which countries are covered?
Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Germany and the Netherlands. The catalogue is fullest in Belgium and Luxembourg, where the project was born, and it grows with every addition.
Is the app available in my language?
The interface comes in eight languages: French, English, German, Dutch, Portuguese, Luxembourgish, Spanish and Italian. It follows your phone’s language, and can be changed in the settings.
Where does the information come from?
From three sources. Open databases — Overture Maps, OpenStreetMap, Wikimedia Commons — for the places and their details; the professionals themselves, who create or claim their listing; and public sources for the events. Each source and its licence are set out on the Credits and licences page.
Some information is wrong, or I don’t want my listing
A removal form is available at the bottom of every page on the site, and from each listing concerned. No account is required. Corrections and removal requests are both handled by hand.
How is published content checked?
Every listing and every event published by a professional goes through moderation before it appears. Listings coming from open sources are imported automatically, then corrected when they are reported: the removal form serves that purpose too.
I’m a professional, how do I add my establishment?
By creating a pro account on the site. Publishing a listing and events is free; being featured is a separate, optional offer. If your establishment is already in the catalogue, you can claim its listing rather than creating a second one.
